As qualification was our first session out on the track, there were several discussions around how long it would be before a red flag would be shown. Even the most pessimistic of punters would have lost money on the result of seven seconds!
All three found there was more grip than expected and perhaps a little disappointed with their positions, nothing better could have been attained with less than 10 minutes each.
I was side-by-side with a fellow C1 as we entered the bottom of Eau Rouge. As we reached the crest near Raidillon, there were two 2CVs right there. It was if they were motionless. That’s not a pretty place to be in the dark of night.
What a rollercoaster of a weekend for The Bastards! Their first ever 24 hour endurance race was a massive success. Highlights, lowlights and lots of lessons learned.
Car #332 started P32 with 53 cars on the grid and finished 18th. Not testing hurt us a little, but another solid result and only one slight ‘rub’.
P8 in the 5 hour race was another really strong performance and that included the 1 minute Stop and Go penalty for exceeding track limits.
I am not quite used to a, to seeing cars like a, cars enduring, eerh, cars defending like that in, in an endurance race. But yeah, it was entertaining.
